PHOTOS - Third ‘Night on Broadway’ in DTLA a great success

A successful third annual Night On Broadway celebration, led by Councilmember José Huizar's “Bringing Back Broadway,” happened in DTLA on Jan. 28, 2017. The massive festival provided thousands with an opportunity to walk through historic theater venues like The Globe, The Orpheum, The Million Dollar Theatre, ACE Hotel, The Palace Theatre, and the Los Angeles Theatre. There was live music performed on several stages, a silent disco, a ferris wheel, and dozens of vendors.

It was already popping around 5 p.m. when I arrived to see The Spazmatics, and it became more crowded with every minute that went by. My night ended at the Million Dollar Theatre watching the Sonora Santanera play songs from the Golden Era of Mexico - beautiful danzones and mambo that made it impossible to remain seated. By the end of the night, a hundred people were on stage. (Let's face it, there's no party like a Latin party.)

Above are pictures of what I saw. Enjoy them and make a mental note to be there at next year's Night on Broadway.
