The Dia de los Muertos celebration at Hollywood Forever has grown from a modest gathering of 300 people in 1999 to a massive event that hosts over 40,000 people. This year the event will be held on Oct. 27, from noon to midnight, and it will feature multiple live music and dance performances, as well as food, crafts, art, and more. See the complete schedule of performances here.

General admission for the event is $25 per person, with children under 8 and seniors over 65 free until 4 pm. You can buy tickets here. The Hollywood Forever Cemetery is located at 6000 Santa Monica Blvd., in (Hollywood) Los Angeles CA 90038.

The event, which will honor the Aztec goddess Coatlicue, “Mother of the Gods,” had a media preview on Wednesday. The pictures below were taken that evening and are meant to show you a bit of what you can expect to see on Oct. 27.

Enjoy and plan ahead to be part of this colorful celebration!
