Estrella Jalisco is inviting you to take part in an immersive art/light experience in celebration of Día de los Muertos. The exhibit, entitled A New Día, or “a new day,” inspires people to discover and embrace the holiday as a celebration of life and living tradition.
Through Nov. 1, Estrella Jalisco is hosting A New Dia at Wisdome LA, a 35,000 sq. ft. art entertainment park located in the heart of the Los Angeles Arts District. With his unique creative vision, filmmaker Robert Rodriguez collaborated with Estrella Jalisco to bring to life a first-of-its-kind experience. Rodriguez also serves as a personal guide by lending his voice to the exhibit as he takes visitors through a sensory journey of four dome installations.
A New Día is a sensorial experience with lights and projections that pay homage to the beloved Dia de los Muertos traditions. Visitors to the space begin the journey among marigolds, revered for their magical and medicinal powers, then take a symbolic walk through water. Later they experience the transformative power of fire and prepare to take flight with the monarch butterflies, which grace Mexico every year.
The exhibit is open to the public Thursday through Sunday through Nov. 1, 2019. Hours are 5pm – 11pm (Wednesdays, Thursdays), 5pm – 12am (Fridays), 11am – 12am (Saturdays), 11am-11pm (Sundays). General admission tickets for $29 are available at wisdome.la/anewdia. Attendees must be 21+ to participate.
