The Sierra Madre Playhouse has worked hard to present a safe, outdoor, socially distanced production of YOU’RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN, and it’s now performing at the Sierra Madre Memorial Park. The play will run Thursdays to Sundays through September 12, 2021.

YOU’RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN is a classic musical comedy based on the beloved Peanuts comic strip created by Charles M. Schulz. In it, Charlie Brown and the entire Peanuts gang explore life’s great questions as they play baseball, struggle with homework, sing songs, swoon over their crushes, and celebrate the joy of friendship. The musical is accessible to the entire family and entertaining to both children and adults.

To keep the audience socially distanced, seating has been arranged in socially distanced circles, six feet apart, to accommodate parties of two, four, or six. This can be lawn seating if you bring your own blankets (bring also some food!), but there are also circles designated for people who bring chairs. A limited number of lawn chairs are also available for rent. You may want to plan to share the cost of a circle with some of your besties. If you do so, each space comes out to be anywhere from $20 to $30. Circles are now on sale and can be purchased at sierramadreplayhouse.org or by calling (626) 355-4318.

The musical is produced and directed by Christian Lebano with associate producer Gary Lamb. The musical director is Sean Paxton. Book, music and lyrics are by Clark Gesner. Additional music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa. Additional dialogue by Michael Mayer.

As a bonus, on Sundays from 5:30-6:30 pm you can join a family-friendly crafting in the park before the performance. All craft materials are provided free of charge, thanks to a partnership with Cal Poly Pomona’s Center for Community Engagement.

The Sierra Madre Memorial Park is located at 222 W. Sierra Madre Blvd., Sierra Madre, CA 91024.
