LA MIRADA THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS is welcoming back live audiences with a musical that is infectious and simply adorable – MAMMA MIA!

Who doesn’t know songs like “Thank You for the Music,” “Mamma Mia,” “Dancing Queen,” and now, (thanks in part to TikTok) “Slipping Through My Fingers?” These are unforgettable songs that accompany the tale of a daughter bent on discovering the identity of her father right before her wedding. Featuring more than 20 ABBA songs, this fresh take at the story awakens every possible emotion, taking you from laughter to tears and from singing to basically dancing in your seat.

Directed by T.J. Dawson, this musical has a large cast of very talented singers and dancers. Nonetheless, as far as yours truly is concerned, it is definitely Marie-France Arcilla’s show, as she performs the role of Donna outstandingly. Arcilla self-describes as a “proud Filipino immigrant, mother of two, getting the job done.” And the job she certainly has done here! The entire show is fabulous, but listening to this artist alone is worth the price of admission.

MAMMA MIA! will run through Sunday, November 21, 2021. Performances are Thursdays at 7:30 pm; Fridays at 8 pm; Saturdays at 2 pm & 8 pm, and Sundays at 1:30 pm & 6:30 pm.

Tickets range from $17 – $89 and can be purchased at lamiradatheatre.com, by visiting the La Mirada Theatre Box Office, or by calling (562) 944-9801 or (714) 994-6310. $15 Student Tickets are available. Children under 3 will not be admitted into the theatre.
