A must-do when you are in Mobile, AL, is an afternoon at the Charles Wood Japanese Garden. This peaceful place provides a place to relax, as well as a couple of easy hikes. It’s common to see families enjoying a picnic and couples soaking the sun by the ponds, which are filled with koi. If you’re a mom with small children, know that there’s a short walk that will accommodate strollers, but the larger hike is rather rocky and bumpy.
Currently, the lotuses are dormant, but they’re something to look forward to in the warmer months, as is the Cherry trees’ bloom mid-April.
